This policy defines the quality bar that every troubleshooting guide, article, and user-submitted tip must meet before it is published on Lil Engine. It exists to protect readers and to keep our content genuinely useful rather than filler produced for search rankings.

What "Quality" Means Here

• Specific over generic: A guide must address a real symptom on real equipment, not offer vague advice that applies to anything with an engine.
• Accurate and verifiable: Diagnostic steps, torque values, clearances, and part references must match manufacturer service information or verified field experience.
• Safe: Guides must include appropriate safety warnings for fuel, electrical, sharp, and moving-part hazards — placed where they are needed.
• Complete: A guide should cover diagnosis, the most likely causes, step-by-step repair, and the parts commonly required — not stop at a surface description.
• Readable: Written for an owner who has some repair experience, with clear steps and plain language.

Content We Do Not Publish

• Thin or filler pages that exist only to capture a search term without delivering real value.
• Fabricated specifications, part numbers, or procedures not supported by service data or verified experience.
• Unsafe workarounds that bypass manufacturer safety features or recommended procedures.
• Duplicated or lightly-rewritten content scraped from other sites.
• Recommendations made purely for affiliate revenue with no genuine repair relevance.

User-Submitted Tips

Community repair tips are a valuable part of our guides, but every submission passes through editorial review before it is displayed. A submission is approved only when it:

• Describes a fix that is technically sound and does not create a safety risk.
• Is relevant to the guide it is submitted against.
• Does not contradict manufacturer service guidance for the equipment in question.
• Does not promote a specific brand or product for promotional purposes.
• Is clearly written and free of personal or identifying information about third parties.

Submissions that do not meet these criteria are rejected or held for revision. Our editorial team may lightly edit an approved tip for clarity without changing its technical meaning.

Affiliate Recommendations

We recommend parts and products because they are genuinely relevant to a repair, not because a merchant pays us. Review & Improvement Cycle

Guides are reviewed periodically and whenever we receive credible correction reports. When a guide is found to be inaccurate or incomplete, it is updated or removed. We do not keep low-value content live simply to maintain page count.
